Popping up all over the place

Having had a rather long break between supperclubs 4 and 5 things are getting slightly more lively now. I have set the date for the next Macknade event, which will be on the 4th May and can also announce a little outing to Ickham on the 15th June. Having been a guest at the Flavours of Spain pop-up last weekend which was serious yummy and very well attended by the ladies and gents of that parish, I can safely say that they like their food. Also in the offing a possible mini supperclub in Whitstable, details to follow….That’s all for now but I can’t wait to start planning Spring and early Summer menus….if the snow could just get lost please!

Little tweaks to the menu

Having set the menu I tried out my old fave the rhubarb and saffron tart and rather sadly found it wanting. So if it isn’t good enough for me then it isn’t good enough for all my lovely guests. Today I have been playing with alternatives, including a steamed sponge with a rhubarb and cardamom ‘jam’ which was sooooo delicious, but this little beauty won.

A rhubarb and frangipane tart which will come with Kentish créme fraiche.
